My name is Mrs. McCanlies, and I will join the Collective this year as your 2nd/3rd grade Social Studies, Science, and English teacher. I have been teaching since 2008 and have taught public and homeschool courses ranging from 3rd to 12th grade! I was even an adjunct professor at Texas Woman's University, training teachers in the Reading Department. I have a bachelor's and master’s degree in education from TWU, majoring in reading education. When not learning or teaching, I love cuddling with my four dogs, traveling, gardening, and drinking coffee! I look forward to meeting all of you!

Living History is an immersive class that takes your student "back in time." This class is taught by Loree Ellis who not only loves history but can bring it to life. In this semester (Fall 24) your child will learn the history of our government, how and why it was established, as well as about wars, documents, dates and important locations. This is a one-of-a-kind history experience for your student.

Loree Ellis

I am Loree Ellis, I am really excited about my second year with the collective.

I have a BA in History.  For the past 30 years I have participated in living history events across Texas and the south.   I make all of my historical clothing using period techniques whenever possible. I love to dress in historical clothing and teach others about my passions.

This year I will  teach both history and sewing for the collective.
